Melodic Development is such an important skill to learn as a musician. Playing music is a form of communication and we need to keep things related so we can get our message across to the listener. When we are learning to improvise or write melodies we can tend to jump all over the place losing our focus or connection to what we doing musically. Melodic Development is basically taking a Melodic or Rhythmic idea, repeating it and developing it.

This following lesson will help you be more focused and more aware of what you are playing. It will help you not to abandon your ideas and to develop them into something musical.
