Mary is one of Ireland's best female musicians and was recognised as such when she became the first female recipient of TG4's Gradam Ceoltóir na Bliana / Musician of the Year.

Mary's first solo album Feadóga Stáin still known the standard setter and a must have for whistle players almost 40 years on from it's release.

Mary grew up in Shankhill in Dublin and has lived in An Spidéal, Co. Galway since the 1980's. In her youth she got to know the legendary Willie Clancy and she went onto play music with Ceoltóirí Laigheann, De Danann and in later years recorded 4 albums of Irish and Boroque music with the band Dórdán.

One of TG4's most acclaimed music documentary programme's - 'Sé Mo Laoch, is back for an 8th series. Each programme will feature the musical story of a hero of Irish Traditional Music.
