I'm standing at the grave of D.H. Mansfield on Morey Hill in Hope, ME. I've used his 1848 tunebook The American Vocalist in my work and social singing a lot over the years, including an unreleased 1997 recording my quartet Northampton Harmony made in Mansfield's church in Searsmont. I hope there will be an excuse to do a release one of these days.

I decided to try this on the fiddle since we'd already filmed a banjo piece. Sounds pretty different that way, but I like it.
