n 2001, the french band Le Tigre Des Platanes discovered, more or less by chance, the "Ethiopiques" series. They worked some choice morsels, reinterpreted in their own unique style, into their eclectic repertoire. They were drawn by the beauty of Ethiopian music, its power, its weird hybridisation and the scope of its own influences, which make it truly unique and in which Le Tigre, once they had gotten over their initial shock, felt very much home. In January 2006, the band went for the first time to Ethiopia. Later on, they met Eténèsh Wassié, who took up the challenge to sing with them.
