KINGSIZE SPLIT!!
JUNE 2010
Hello Lovely people!
Hello all,
Hope you are all well. Never thought we would have to write this invite but we are sad to inform you that Kingsize are no longer. After 6 years we have decided to call it a day. We leave as four best friends full of amazing memories in what was some of the best years of our lives. We gave it a good go, releasing an album on general release in the Uk, Europe and Japan and touring the shit out of the Uk and Europe. Unforgettable times and unforgettable people encountered on our travels. Thanks all so much for your support over the past years.
We however have ONE LAST SHOW to play! We are gonna play Holborn Studios Commissary Bar on Friday July 2nd. Expect a mega set of old and new Kingsize tracks. A barbecue is on the cards, as well as many give aways. The bar is on Regents canal, come down one last time and celebrate what was Kingsize

Kingsize announce February show
Jan 8 2010
We are proud to announce that we will be headlining a Youth Music night in association with Withtheband on Feb 23rd. The Charity recently got a lot of press attention as Tom Morillo of Rage against the machine donated all his royalties from his recent Christmas number one to the Charity. The Event is free, all money spent at the bar proceed to the charity. We are buzzed as we are looking forward to playing all the new material we have been busy writing in our new studio. Please come on down for this great cause, see you at the front. Kingsize Love XXX

OFFICIAL PROMO VIDEO FOR "THE DAZE" (DIRECTED BY JULIAN HIGGS):

'A group of 4 fundamentally different young men, bound together by bourbon, rock 'n' roll, London, melody, Elvis, Britpop, late nights, early mornings and epic hangovers. Kingsize is, essentially, a gang. A rock band with a pop sensibility, whose debut album Love, Lust and Other Disasters recalls that genre's finest exponents, the Kinks, the Clash, the Cure, the Who, to name but a few.

Since the release of their first album in Autumn 2008, the band have toured the continent extensively, and after a recent hiatus in Berlin, during which fresh material was recorded, Kingsize are ready to deliver a more refined, mature sound that blends thoughtful, introspective lyricism with instinctive, accomplished rock 'n' roll musicianship.

Kingsize is:

Mike McCartney- vocals and guitar.
The hermetic chief songwriter, whose distinctive, soaring vocals and poster-boy good looks make him the best kind of frontman.

George Dalziel- drums.
This Scotish-Italian lothario is the heart-throb of the band. An arch-hedonist, this versatile player has never missed a beat.

Zanny- guitar.
A quietly intense, aspirational wordsmith. Vain, this melancholic revels in combining melodic guitar lines with grand, ego-centric solos.

Rupert Hugo Pendray Turner- bass.
The archetypal Englishman. An exceptional all-round musician, this eccentric, sherry-drinking, hill-walking bassist's laconic facade belies a fiery playing style.'
Kingsize is a London-based, loveable quartet of young talented hit-makers in the making. Having plunderd the archives of 60 years of the best rock 'n' roll music, from Elvis, The Kinks, The Clash, The Cure, to more recent acts such as the Kings Of Leon and The Strokes, Kingsize are ready to deliver you a refreshing take on the genre, with their soon to be released debut LP 'Love, Lust And Other Disasters', out on Weekender Records this Summer.
Recorded in Berlin and London, the album, 'Love Lust and Other Disasters' varies from fast paced, catchy two-minute pop gems to slower ballads, assimilating all their influences into 44 minutes of pure aural pleasure. The common denominator is the band's dedication to the fine art of melody making. The importance of melody cannot be underestimated, which, in tandem with the lyrics' honest tales of the heart, form the emotional centre of our songs. They marry an indie-rock sound with a pop sensibility that will leave the audience humming our tunes for days (if not weeks) after they have left the show.
The shows in themselves are loud, brash, exciting affairs. Usually starting with a modicum of dignity before descending into a beautifully chaotic, sweaty mess by the end. It's all about having fun on stage, and inviting the crowd to do the same.

Over the last few years, Kingsize have supported and toured with the following brilliant acts: Ash, The Pigeon Detectives, White Lies, The Subways, Florence and the Machine, Little Man Tate, Dogs, Five O'Clock Heroes, Blood Red Shoes, The Ataris, Eagle Seagull, Reverend & The Makers.
