the sounds all around and inside
my doubts and my fears
catch up to me and there's nowhere to hide

I'm losing track of time
every nickle and every dime

My feet rise and fall
but it's all to the beat of bad times
my speech my lies and all
form my sentence but I've committed no crime
My hands don't understand
the cuts scratches and scars they're forced to withstand
And my head's stuck in the sand
in no position for making demands

left far behind now that I know
that you don't give a damn about me
My imagination's shot
same old rhythms and rhymes
the time's are tough
I've had enough
just try and live without me

anticipatiently awaiting something
looking for a sign
