DESCRIPTION:
Some bands defy description. The Warble, Alex Harrison (aka Alex Warble), Ben Baurmeister, Steve Pereira, and Judith Stevens are one of those bands. Sure, the jangly guitars and preening fiddles are folky, but what to make of the rambling song structures, unexpected instrumentation, electric interludes and, strangest of all, the popular live shows that mix striking visual art and freakish theatricality? One of the things that make The Warble so hard to categorize is that they do not recognize lines between music, visual art and theater. Can a band be its own genre?
