The Virgo 9

The amophric Virgo 9 is quirky husband/wife duo, Teresa and Gavin. In 2007, Teresa dubbed the moniker to release her solo work, The Stoner Set. The beast churned on her own and the live, Snake in the Studio era, twisted garage punk sound was born. At times they resemble a psychedelic marching band. At other moments, they grind out stoner metal heavy enough jar your fillings. Soulful vocals and tender acoustic moments wind their way layers of chainsaws, fuzz and feedback. Gavin, front man for a billion bands including The Guaranteed Ugly, hails from Rugby, UK. Teresa was born into a musical family with bluegrass and gospel roots. Years of classical training did nothing but piss her off, and make her nearly drop out of high school. Avoiding the typical highbrow route, she prefers just to make some fucking noise. She left farm country Ohio to join noise bands such as Boston, MA's Plastic Hassle, screw around Europe learning to play the guitar, and Durham, NC's The Veldas. Together, they live in the wild and wonderful woods of WV next door to a snake handling church. Careful, they might bite. And, they don't mean the snakes.
