Led Zeppelin "Out On The Tiles" guitar lesson. For this Riff of the Day, we're using a Lexi drive from DMB pedals to match the midrange punch and cleaner Marshall tone from Mr. Jimmy Page. This riff has Jonesy and Pagey playing the same parts and the growling bass tone actually makes the guitar sound dirtier than it really is. "Out On The Tiles" starts with chugging octaves and a familiar Page bend from G to A, like Heartbreaker. The main riff starts with a F# arpeggio and follows with a lot of action back and forth between two notes, resting on a set of power chords (F#, E). At the start of the second verse, the timing pushes to keep it locked into the standard 4/4 time. With a little practice, this change comes naturally and slowing it down is a good way to start. The chorus is just two chords and we revisit the full step bend and octaves from the intro. Enjoy your riff of the day guitar lesson!
