Lightnings thunder clouds:
In the evening of a hot summer day at the sea coast of Seroskerke August 2013, I had the luck filming these on going lightning from an enormous thunder cloud.

A weard thing was that I did not hear any sound of thunder on that distance. What you hear in the video is from an other thunderstorm that I recorded aonce at home. The reason there was no sound of thunder is due to the fact that the storm was too far away. Thunder can normally be only heard up to 12 miles from the lightning, and this storm looks at least a good 25 miles away.
Looking at the thunder clouds from so far, I had an amazing overview of all the lightninings, mostly within the clouds (maybe above the sea water there are less top down ground lightnings ?). The thunder clouds were slowly moving over sea from south to north, all along the Dutch coastline. We could see the lightning going on and on for almost an hour.

Allthough it is not a hurricane at all, the scene reminded me of "Like a hurricane" from Neil Young. I liked the idea to do something with it for a video, so last night I put this improvisation to the video clip. It may be not perfect because I played in one take out of the blue, but I loved the ethos I felt playing. I shortened the original because it was almost twice as long.
