DESCRIPTION:
Rare 1964 French press, complete with unique Picture cover of this Scottish pioneer of the Soul movement.
Noting as a 7” 45 there was no British release. Just USA & French press we have encountered through the years, with the extremely elusive USA release not offering the impressive picture cover.
Take a listen..to a song saturated in Chicago attitude, written by Willie Dixon (but credited to Alex Harvey as the writer on both releases..but I can certainly forgive that as the combination of Alex’s snarling vocal and several “unhinged” saxophone breaks from Howie Casey that defy comparison.
We are not 100% certain but did does sound like Liverpool’s King Size Taylor & The Dominoes backing presence that is lifting the session far and beyond the expected levels of British “Soul” exuberance..
An out of control R&B / MOD session with no British release.. do not pass by..
