The Soundscapes were formed in New York City/2006, where brothers Raphael and Rodrigo Carvalho lived at the time.

Within three months of rehearsal they played their first gig in the Lower East Side and, in no time, left their mark on the local musical scene, generating a cult following.

They were also and often joined by their peers and good-time friends from Boston, Washington DC and Baltimore, forming a community of musicians and wild bunch that played inspired and memorable shows together during this period.

The first album came out in 2009. 'Freestyle Family' was recorded in Williamsburg/Brooklyn at The Bunker Studios by John Davis and released by local brotherhood label BNS Sessions. They followed their path back to Sao Paulo with praised shows in several cities.

In 2012, friends Guilherme Braga (guitar) and Marco Vianna (bass) joined the band and the group became a real tour de force. Their association with Balaclava Records led to their second release, the EP 'A Lifetime A Minute'.

The song 'Bright Young Hope' is from the EP "A Lifetime A Minute" released in Oct 2014, out now on Balaclava Records.
