In April 2010 Summerfield debuted for their first live performance in front of a crowd of 15,000 at North Carolina's Dogwood Festival. The band, composed of beautifully talented songstress 15 year old Summer Collins and her instrumentally versatile cousin Isaac Ball, is part of the next generation of rising talent. What allows them to stand out from their peers however, is the fresh spin they put on music. This is evident both musically and lyrically with a new-country rooted style all their own. Summerfield is excited about the impending release of their first 15 song album currently in the final stages of completion in Nashville TN. Summer & Isaac devoted their entire 2010 summer vacation writing and performing at numerous venues. With CD release set for March 2011 this young band is about to take off!
A Fayetteville, NC native, Summer Collins grew up as a career military soldier's daughter. Summer's passion for music began about five years ago when she started singing and performing at the age of 10. Isaac's musical roots also started to plant themselves at a young age as well. A classically trained violinist and self-taught guitar player, his musical passions would culminate in Isaac performing as Concert Master for the Treasure coast Youth Symphony in his home state of Florida. After high school he chose to move to North Carolina where he would join forces with Summer. The dynamic and energetic duo have unique life stories which strongly influence their music and lend to its passion. Isaac growing up in a modest home among 8 siblings abundant with musical talent and warmth. While Summer an army brat, was primarily raised on the Ft Bragg Army base where her father was stationed. After losing her mother to Leukemia in 2005, Summer turned to music as a form of expression and a way to reach out to others. Isaac used music to find an identity and voice in a large family. Both young performers share many life experiences beyond their youth through their lyrics and music.
