The Shades are a two month old rock band based in London, playing music with the energy and electricity of earlier Kings of Leon records, fused with lyrical content reminiscent of The Gaslight Anthem, Springsteen, and perhaps even Bob Dylan. In their two months together they have written, recorded, mixed and mastered entirely by themselves their first single 'Genius' - Dean Aladay (the singer of the band) then proceeded to shoot, edit and direct the video for 'Genius', and have just finished their second single 'Can You Hear Us?'. The Shades will be delivering another video by the end of 2013, and an EP in early 2014. They have shows coming up London, Paris, and Los Angeles.
Dean (Vocals, guitar) is 23 years old, is 96% blind, and shoots all the bands photo and video work. He has been best friends and bandmates with Hunter (Guitar. 23) since they were both 11 years old. Moses (Bass, 27) and Slim (Drums, 20) are both well respected and known jazz musicians, they fell in love with Dean and Hunter's approach to songwriting, and the energy the two created in their music, and thus decided to leave the jazz world to follow the rock n' roll road as the Shades. The band have a wolf, he is called Porridge.
