DESCRIPTION:
It's no secret, unless you're in a musician's union, there are so many jobs with no real standard for how much we should be paid. It's kind of ridiculous. It's left up to you and the employer to decide what you're time and talents are worth...and often times that dollar amount is far less than it should be.

So how do we determine what a fair wage is?

In my opinion, one way to do it by talking to each other about money. Asking questions from seasoned professionals. Collecting information and deciding for yourself what works for you. There's a difference between hustling, and saying "yes" to every single offer, regardless of how insulting the pay may be.

I lay out 5 quick tips to navigate these conversations. Hopefully we can, as a community, begin to raise the standard and start getting paid what we're really worth.
