Tips on learning to play Power Chords.

1. Keep your index finger FLAT: it should mute out all the strings.
2. Keep your pinky and ring finger curled, and tight together, so they make once surface.
3. Don't relax your hand when switching chords; keep the power chord shape the entire time
4. Don't worry about strum patterns or tricky songs until you can play power chords well. It's better to just learn the proper technique well, so you don't develop bad habits at the start.

I recommend learning the Ramones' "Blitzkreig Bop" or Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit" as a start
