Theory. This Jersey born & raised producer has taken his hobby and passion for music into a goal for ultimate success. Whether it was singing, dancing, producing, or listening to music, music has always been part of his life. Growing up, Theory (Geoff Ibe) has been involved with music. From choir class in school, dance classes with friends, and even playing instruments with family members, Theory has been surrounded by music. He uses his love for music as a vehicle to his success, "I don't to just sit here and dream big, I want to MAKE my dreams happen. My goal is to be able to win my own Grammy" and the journey begins
While still in highshcool, Geoff teamed up with longtime friend Mike Browne (singer/songwriter) and started their own songwriting/performing team (Finest Gentlemen). From then on they worked closely together to create their own style of R&B that is just as appealing to everyone else. Mike Browne describes the sound as "very Urban Gentleman". Their success as a producer/songwriting duo for local artists throughout the years has opened doors into the music industry. At the start of his senior year of highschool, Theory would meet up with Kevin Rockhill (Roc on Command Productions) to collaborate, making hits for some of Jersey's biggest names (Kel Spencer, Hitchcock, White Mic, etc). Together they had a raw, eclectic, and catchy hip hop sound that was only identified as a "Roc on Command Production. Along the way DJ AP (NRC Productions) heard their sound and immediately helped the two out into making Official Remixes for artists such as R. Kelly, Cassie, Omarion, and Notorious BIG, that were featured on radio stations such as Power 105.1 and Hot 97 in New York.
Although now residing in Arizona, Theory is hungrier than ever. His part in Gent Records, LLC with Mike Browne proves his movement to take passion into success and lifestyle. This is only the beginning. The drive to make it 'back home' is now a "Do or Die" mentality. Geoff uses his skill and passion for music to help make some serious noise for the Jersey movement. His influence in various generes of music enables him to innovate, expand, and develop hip hop & R&B, taking it to the next level. Although Geoff is highly versatile, his style has been compared to the likes of Scott Storch, Pharell, Brian McKnight, Javier, etc. All beats produced by Gent Records/Roc On Command are produced, recorded, edited, and mixed on Pro Tools, resulting in high quality surpassing industry standards. Geoff is a classically trained musician, skilled in keyboard, guitar, bass, vocal coaching, music theory, and producing. His achievements with local artists and big record labels has strengthened his artistic credibility and given energy to both the hip hop and R&B community. The Jersey movement is strong. Keep your ears open. Theory's about to make some noise.
