The project THE ORANGES was born in september 2004 thanks to Zak and Nico. In October 2004 the drummer Andrea joins the band. So the band line up is Nico (voice and guitar), Zak (bass and backing vocals) and Andrea (drums). They combine their musical experiences in a adrenalinic rock'n'roll garage; their major influences are the Beatles, the psychedelic 60's, punk band Ramones and Buzzcocks, the 80's Bowie and the 90's Grunge. In January 2005 THE ORANGES start to perform live shows gaining immediately good feedbacks from public and local press. In March 2007 Andrea leaves the band and is replaced by Mav. The live activity in the meantime is growing, performing over 180 concerts in clubs and festivals. The Oranges first full lenght, Hit the Centre was recorded and mixed by Marco Caldera in his own studio in Roè Volciano (BS) and mastered by Luigi Stefanini at New Sin Audio Design Loria (TV).

Il progetto THE ORANGES nasce nel settembre del 2004 grazie a Zak e Nico come strumento per dar sfogo alla loro creatività. Nell'ottobre del 2004 si unisce al gruppo il batterista Andrea e l’iniziale duo si evolve in un trio.
La formazione vede quindi Nico voce e chitarra, Zak basso e cori e Andrea alla batteria. I tre combinano le proprie melodie e sonorità in un adrenalinico rock’n’roll garage; tra gli ascolti alla base del loro background troviamo i Beatles come la psichedelia degli anni '60, il punk di Buzzcocks e Ramones, fino ad approdare al Bowie degli anni '80 e al grunge.
Nel gennaio del 2005 THE ORANGES cominciano a confrontarsi con la dimensione live e a raccogliere i primi consensi di pubblico e si convincono, nel febbraio dello stesso anno, a registrare un demo album di nove pezzi attraverso il quale iniziano a farsi notare all’interno della scena indipendente bresciana.
Nel marzo del 2007 Andrea lascia la band e al suo posto subentra in maniera definitiva il batterista Mav. L’attività live è nel frattempo cresciuta, con all'attivo oltre 180 concerti in locali e festival.
Primo lavoro ufficiale della band per Polka Dots, Hit the Centre è stato registrato e mixato da Marco Caldera nel suo studio di Roè Volciano (BS) e masterizzato da Luigi Stefanini al New Sin Audio Design di Loria (TV).
