DESCRIPTION:
THE NORMALS, who hailed from New Orleans, were one of America's earliest punk bands. Guitarists David Brewton and Charlie Hanson usually got most of the attention, with Brewton singing lead on the band's single "Almost Ready" and Hanson vocalizing on the flipside "Hardcore." That 45rpm disc is one of punk's most collectible records, usually selling for over $100 on eBay. This video clip features a rare lead vocal from drummer Chris Luckette. In case you're wondering about the bass player's t-shirt, it's a picture of a go-kart and the caption says "Let's go karting!" He often wore that on stage.
THE NORMALS:
Chris Luckette - lead vocal and drums
Charlie Hanson - lead guitar and vocal
David Brewton - rhythm guitar and vocal
Steve Walters - bass
