The Mothers Eggs

The Mothers Eggs formed in the Bay Area in late 2004.



Since then, they’ve been cultivating an intoxicating blend of melody and imagery. From strange, drifting ballads to sleazy dirt rock with dance beats, their songs reflect modern times: dissonance with the almost soothing refrain of love, lust, death, and murder.



In 2005, The Mothers Eggs released their debut EP Welcome to the Womb.



It spins a web of sweaty-handed memories: yearning for love with a 20-gauge shotgun, a bemused stranger drifting in and out of consciousness in a pool of blood, a suicidal love affair with a sea creature, a narcissistic revolutionary hording honey, a greasy, tight-pants Casanova carrying a hairdryer, and the uncompromising, fuck-all fury of a wild bull.



They’ve played out with Sleepytime Gorilla Museum, Experimental Dental School, King Cobra, Giraffes? Giraffes!, LKN, Boyskout, Depth Charge Revolt…



I’ve been to their shows. I’ve seen fists collide with faces. I’ve seen sweaty bodies dancing and tongues lapping other tongues. And somehow, it all made sense. Welcome to the revolution. Welcome to the womb. Welcome to the. Welcome to. Welcome. Wel. "W".
