DESCRIPTION:
In 1993, The Jesus and Mary Chain released their EP 'The Sound of Speed' of which contained four new tracks, among them the now classic 'Snakedriver'. This track was also part of the soundtrack for Brandon Lee's cult film 'The Crow'.

The EP also saw drummer Nick Sanderson work with the band for the first time however, Steve Monti would still feature in the band in the future.

Not long after the EP's release a similar styled compilation to that of 'Barbed Wire Kisses' also titled 'The Sound of Speed' would be released. The EP reached number 30 and album number 15 in the respective UK charts.
