The second and last studio album by Mahavishnu with the original lineup.

This isn't my kind of music, generally, but McLaughlin for me is the second greatest guitarist ever . . . not for his technical virtuosity alone, which is insane, but for the spirituality he plays with. Add to that the fact that the rest of band are also excellent musicians, and alone, more or less, among these kinds of groups, McLaughlin didn't lean on the jazz aspects to the point of forgetting to rock sometimes (even if it was in 11/8 time, or whatever. :) )

For me the standouts here are the title song, Celestial Terrestrial Commuters, and Open Country Joy, but there's so much here to appreciate and enjoy. Please do.

The visuals are from the NatGeo documentary, Wild Thailand. Sometimes it feels like the music really goes with the video, but that effect is purely serendipitous -- no conscious editing was done.
