Here from 1895 is one of the earliest and successful artists of his time on record, Mr. George J. Gaskin, singing "The Black Knights Templar" on an original 1895 Berliner Record. The Talking machine is a a Victor Type E or (Monarch Jr.), which is a front mount talking Machine in which the horn is mounted directly to the Reproducer. Later versions of this Talking Machine had the early rigid tone arm and were rear mount Talking machines. The Type E was first produced in October of 1901, and last shipments were in the summer of 1903.
