DESCRIPTION:
Acetate and single from the collection of the late Bobby Ross, who was bass player with the Offbeats. "I Must Go And Tell Her" b/w "I Need You" was considered a Joe Meek production many years ago but later dismissed. Before Bobby died he told me that they were allowed to record this single at another studio with Joe Meek's permission, on the condition that he still got to mix the finished product. At the time I didn't believe, but since going through Bobby's collection which included this acetate, it is clear that the story is true, and there is a lot of dynamic difference from the acetate to the released 45. Therefore the story is true, Joe effectively produced this 45!
