I'm sure many of you are already familiar with this group. Public Assault is a punk group from Indiana, and a damn good one at that. Easily one of the best groups coming out of the scene, sharing members with other prominent groups, namely as Menanites and Zap. This group is best known for their phenomenal 2012 Demo and 2015 7", boasting some impressively-fervorous-but-infectious music, with savage vocals and tantalizing basslines. A perfect mix of incessant angst-ridden hardcore punk and melodies suited for an impromptu mosh. But before they were able to deliver that sweet, sweet tunage, they had this. This, guys and gals, is their 2011 demo. And boy, is it fucking vile.

I've always been a sucker for amateurish and unrefined punk, which is usually why I gravitate towards band's demos as opposed to their polished future releases. I'm shit, so it kinda resonates with me, I guess. Anyways, this demo features two tracks we're already familiar with, Isolate and Self-Centered, three tracks that were never picked up for future releases, and a dorky Misfits cover. Blown-out, muddy, and vocals that sounds like Kenny has the mic halfway down his throat; it's fuckin' rad. I highly suggest any fans of this band to check this out. It may be hard for some to listen to their favorite tracks being played in such a snot-fueled manner, but I still think there's a lot to appreciate here. There's also a bunch of references to the Menanites in these tracks, with the lead shouting "Kevy Nichols" and "Menanites" at the end of some tracks. I imagine it's because the group was actually active at the time of recording, and even self-released a CD themselves. If anybody's got a link to it, I'd greatly appreciate it.
