"The Fox" is not supposed to be taken seriously. It's meant to be a joke.
Part of he lyrics is from a childrens book, the rest of the lyrics is clieche rhymes and phrases and most of the sounds are really silly.
The Ylvis-brothers are just as surprised about the success of this video as everybody else.

Silliness aside, we can't deny that there are lot's of highly enjoyable music in here :)
