In this In The Flesh? guitar lesson video, I will show you how to play this classic Pink Floyd song that opens their incredible double album The Wall.
There are basically two different sections to learn on the guitar. The first section opens the song and contains a single note riff, some simple double-stops, and a quick little bluesy solo.
This section slowly builds in intensity at the end to finally reach the main riff of the song.
This main riff will be the second section of the song that I will cover in the video lesson.
This riff contains a harmonized lead guitar part containing many long and sustained bends. Keeping these bends in tune can be tricky and you really have to focus your ear on hearing what you are playing to keep the notes in tune when you are performing the bends.
After I show you the riff, I will then show you how to play the harmonized guitar part that is quite low in the mix on the original recording. If you have another guitar player to play with, then you should obviously play both parts. However, if you are the only guitarist, I suggest playing just the lower harmony line that I teach first. It is heard much louder on the original recording.
Have fun with this Pink Floyd classic! #inthefleshguitarlesson #pinkfloyd #guitarcovers
