DESCRIPTION:
Monika Essen, Production Designer for "Frida," is in Mexico City on the hunt for authentic artisan goods and textiles to incorporate into the designs and costumes that will help bring the force of nature that was Frida to life on stages in Michigan. She reflects on Frida's fashion choices, and revels in the experience of seeing her former home and belongings. "Frida" is co-produced by Michigan Opera Theatre and Macomb Center for the Performing Arts. Presented by DTE Energy.
