Thee Swank Bastards "Big Sky" (Bastardized) Live at: The Bamboo Hut, San Francisco, CA. 06/11/2010 - Video
PUBLISHED:  Oct 06, 2010
DESCRIPTION:
Just in time for Halloween in the spirit of Grindhouse, with it's warm orange and black color scheme and it's "Bastardized" motif, this is the second in a series of "Bastardized" versions of a live music video by Thee Swank Bastards doing the Reverend Horton Heat cover "Big Sky". This one is shot at San Francisco's own Bamboo Hut in north beach 06/11/2010.

Jesse Del Quardo really embellishes his surf-virtuoso guitar style playing on this one, followed by Shaun Coleman's solid, thumping bass lines which carry us through the tune, as Gerry "Turbo" Proctor's hammering percussion keeps us in time with perfect tempo and rhythm which, enables Szandora's playful, nymphette choreography to glide like a spirit in and out of frame as we watch her come alive through her dance as the true artisan that she is!

This is my edited, heavily modified in post, early 1970's look/variation of that which, is "Bastardized" destroyed, light leaked, over lit, heavy scratched and finally finessed as a weathered piece of Super 16mm film stock.

This 2nd version is running at a true 24 frames rate I, (Christopher Sorrenti) did lead cinematography with a very modified 3 CCD, Panasonic HD "Bazooka Cam" which are rare and only available in Japan!

Brokken Wralstad shot 2nd HD camera with me on this shoot for coverage so, we could do a two camera sting-duet for your viewing music video pleasure!

If you haven't already seen this band make it a MUST SEE on your to do list then, you can really enjoy them without the heavy scratch marks, light leaks or jumpy frames ; ) - C.S.
