DEEP DISSATISFACTION- Dirty Little Pedro Live at Canters Kibitz Room 1/23/10
I got this Deep Dissatisfaction, thats been keeping my heart in traction-
Been having doubts about my friends, and thinking self-destructive ends- yeah
And people tell me better find something better, better find something better to do-
But all day long they just keep getting in my way, I know I got to get my message through-
I got this Deep Dissatisfaction, I got this Deep Dissatisfaction-
I got this Deep Dissatisfaction- thats become my main attraction,
Been dreaming bout sleeping in cars, and waking up outside the bars- yeah
And people tell me better find someone better, better find someone better to do-
But I dont care about what the haters say I know I gotta get my way back to you-
I got this Deep Dissatisfaction, I got this Deep Dissatisfaction
And Im so sick and tired, of being so uninspired-
Im cursed with an impatient mind, Surrounded by my own kind- yeah
I got this Deep Dissatisfaction, I got this Deep Dissatisfaction

This is a video from last Saturday night, shot by my beautiful friend Gudrun. It is an excerpt from Deep Dissatisfaction, a song I originally played with the Drugstore Cowgirls, but sometimes kick when I play solo. The first verse is not there because Gudge hadnt started shooting yet. Theres a pretty loud Woo! about halfway through, a couple actually, let your ears be forewarned. The girls got lungs. She brings some back-up vox too.
It was a birthday party for Skot and Dutch at The Kibitz Room, the infamous bar in the back of Canters Deli. I first met both of them there. There are two long-running open-mike nights in my neighborhood, Sunday nights at the Kibitz, and Mondays nights at Molly Malones, both on Fairfax Avenue. Open-mike nights in Hollywood can be heavy. You see everything from someone who is onstage for the first time in their life, to classically trained, professional musicians just getting their rocks off. I met the Drugstore Cowgirls at those open-mikes, and Dutch met the Vacation (in those days called The Sons) there. Both bands started doing a Thursday night residency at the Kibitz Room, booked by the bar manager, Eric, better known as El Diablo. Skot started bartending at the Kibitz during those early days, and hes still there.
Skot and Dutchs party brought together a lot of old friends, it was a festive reunion and a smoking night of music- Paul Chesne played with The Crazy Mutherf*ckers (he held down the residency there for over a year) spitting Outcast and Dr. Dre lyrics over Roadhouse Rock. Dutch fronted for the Disasters and then jumped on bass for the ripping Vacation set. Around 1a.m. an All-Star jam took place with Artie Vegas and the Legendary Willie Chambers (of The Chambers Brothers) keeping the dance floor spinning until everyone was much too drunk. They pour a mean drink at the Kibitz.
