“With a voice that sounds like it jumped off an old phonograph, [Tiffany Pfeiffer] mixes a classic-jazz vocal aesthetic with modern beats, flavors and rhythms… remarkably talented songstress.” -Dan Bolles, Seven Days

Recorded on the legendary reels of Brooklyn’s Revolution Sound/Headgear studios by dub sound-smith Dr. Israel, Amor Frio is the debut EP of Tiffany Pfeiffer and The Discarnate Band. Tiffany grew up in Omaha, Nebraska, in a financially-challenged family and an embattled home. Classically trained and singing since age 4, she performed in church, theater and choir through college with a voice that embodied her passion. Turned off by the confines of classical music, Tiffany didn’t sing for two years after graduation while pursuing journalism in San Francisco. Ready to express, she moved to Brooklyn in 2002, where she founded her band. Discarnate (without body or form), the band is the soulful collaboration of strangers, friends and ex-lovers alike. With classical roots, Tiffany’s music is as varied as the many styles she resonates and loves: trip-hop, world, jazz, punk, soul, rock, pop; the common thread is a combination of tonality and meditation—drawing from both the West and the East, from motion and emotion, creating a portal to the present moment. From “Baby I’m Yours”, the doo-wop Barbara Lewis cover turned diva reggae, to the breakbeat cabaret of “Broken-hearted”, where guest emcee Yah Supreme [Son Doo Recordings] deftly recounts their relationship, her captivatingly melodic voice leaves you wanting more.

Tiffany Pfeiffer’s Debut EP, "Amor Frio" produced by Brooklyn dub legend Dr. Israel, was officially released June 10, 2010, and is available at www.tiffanypfeiffer.com. Except Baby I’m Yours, all songs written by Tiffany Pfeiffer, ASCAP.
