"DMV" - Ode to the Dept of Motor Vehicles - Video
PUBLISHED:  Feb 23, 2010
DESCRIPTION:
Have you been screwed over by the DMV? Have you waited in their long lines, and dealt with their indifferent workers? This song is for YOU! Written and performed by Brian Bowman, and performed at Sweet Daddy's coffee house in Glendora, California. Lyrics are:

VERSE 1:
God please lay your mercy on me,
I've got to deal with the DMV
You don't know just when you arrive,
you'll be fighting to survive.
Where to go? This place is a maze,
I've got to find where everyone pays.
Don't ask the man with hairy face;
he'll point you to the wrong place

Chorus:
I sit here and I watch the time.
I'm tempted to cut in line.
I'd cut, but I'm afraid;
of that man with the switchblade
D.M.V., D.M.V.!

VERSE 2
I know what it's like to stay in a can;
I used to ride in my old church van
The DMV just isn't as fun,
when you fear being capped with a gun!
Waiting in line, two hours or four; think you're close?
You'll wait five more.
I say "hi" to the employee here,
she shoves me forms with a sneer

Chorus:
I sit here and I watch the time.
I'm tempted to cut in line.
I'd cut, but I'm afraid;
of that man with the switchblade
D.M.V., D.M.V.!

Then I'm line to take my test.
Give forms to the miss, and smile my best.
Finally my chance, it's been so long;
she grins and says "something's wrong".
What do you mean something's wrong?!?
It took me five hours to fill those out!
And here's what she did:
She then points me to the tenth sheet, and says out-loud, "it's incomplete!"
Since there's a space I didn't sign,
I'm sent, to the back, of the line!

Chorus:
I sit here and I watch the time.
I'm tempted to cut in line.
I'd cut, but I'm afraid;
of that man with the switchblade
D.M.V., D.M.V.!
