DESCRIPTION:
Hey all EJ fans, I am here with the 2nd Los Angeles show live at the Universal Amphitheatre on Oct. 11, 1986! Just like the previous show, this is a top-notch quality soundboard recording and is 100% complete. If you loved the first show, you will definitely love this one, which is even more awesome than the last!

Just like the last show, Elton has a loyal and eager crowd which enjoys his witty banter (his band intro is very funny!), he enjoys himself immensely, and he has some of the best musicians in his band's history, like the ever-great Davey Johnstone, the underrated David Paton, the awesome Fred Mandel, the skilled Charlie Morgan, the talented Jody Linscott, and an awesome horn section rounding it out. Also, he has a special guest: old guitarist Caleb Quaye! If you think things are even better than the first show, think again: with his developing vocal nodules, Elton's voice has actually worsened, and some songs which sounded great on the previous show now sound worse! He often hits whistle notes on some songs, he hits wrong notes on many songs, and his voice almost gives out on others! For example, he barely hits the falsettos in Tonight, and his voice almost disappears, Better Off Dead has the worst vocals of any version, Philadelphia Freedom sounds bad, Someone Saved My Life Tonight is one of the worst versions ever, The Bitch Is Back isn't very good, Paris, Restless and This Town are even more oversung than the last show, I'm Still Standing has even more angry birds than the last show, and Candle In The Wind isn't very good.

However, the bad voice doesn't make this a bad show. The show has excellent music and has a great version of Bennie and the Jets (awesome piano solo!), the medley is actually even better than the last show, One Horse Town isn't really bad, Rocket Man here is awesome, Love Song is great, and Daniel and Your Song are very good! This is another show any EJ fan shouldn't miss out on! Enjoy!

BTW, this picture of Elton and Sting was taken near the end of his LA stint in 1986.
