Julie tells her husband Billy Bigelow that they are going to have a baby. Billy, unemployed and abusive of his wife, suddenly realizes that he has to make some life threatening decisions. In this soliloquy scene from R&H Carousel, Billy Bigelow imagines his future son Bill (actually it was to be a daughter named Louise). He knows that he has to steal and may get killed in the process, if there was to be any future for their unborn baby.
