Hallo Freunde,
die Crashing Dreams schreiben zur Zeit an neuen Songs und verschiedene Zukunftsaktivitäten stehen an!
Als neues Bandmitglied begrüßen wir Patrick Loimer. Er ist ein Leipziger Vollblutmusiker und wir sind sehr froh, einen guten neuen Mann mit dabei zu haben. Sonst bleibt alles wie gehabt. Ihr dürft also gespannt sein.
Fabrizio ist nach wie vor mit A Heart Is An Airport beschäftigt, melancholische Pophymnen unters Volk zu bringen. Und Flavio spielt seit Januar 2010 Schlagzeug in der tollen neuen Band Changoleón, für die es zuvor noch nie eine Livebesetzung gab, aber seit 2 Jahren ein genialer Tonträger vorliegt, den es zu entdecken absolut lohnt. Zum Reinhören in die jeweiligen Bandprojekte ist Myspace immer noch ein gutes Medium. Außer man besitzt die Tonträger sowieso schon. Aber wie wir finden, ist es am schönsten die Musik live zu erleben. Wir bedanken uns deshalb bei allen, die zu den Konzerten in der letzten Zeit gekommen sind, und bei allen, die auch in Zukunft in die Clubs kommen werden, um uns live spielen zu sehen. Wir freuen uns auf unsere nächsten Auftritte und vielleicht sehen wir alle die wir kennen bald mal wieder. Wir hoffen also auf eine ereignisreiche Zeit für uns und für euch. The CRASHING DREAMS are currently working on their new album. The new songs slowly but surely are taking shape. In 2006 the twins have come forward with their last studio album 'Get Somewhere Without Words' - the title, of course, giving away, where the band is heading for. Deliberately, there's no singing. The music is mainly generated by guitar, bass and drums. It's only now and again, that an organ or a cello creep into the gripping pieces. It's guitar music. It's rough and straight forward, sounding very much like the old independent school, with the occasional punk elements added. Although singing has been abandoned in general, the melody line always comes first - but without rivalling the intensity and energy of the songs.
The CRASHING DREAMS are the German-Italian twins Flavio and Fabrizio Steinbach, as well as their new bass player Patrick Loimer and Christiane 'Tepe' Baur who played the bass in the past. On their recordings they are supported by several guest musicians, for example their good friend Chris Cacavas, who played piano and organ in many songs. Following their first studio album 'Minimum To Exist' (2003), that included guest appearances from members of Calexico, the CRASHING DREAMS took the next consequent step in the right direction. 'Get Somewhere Without Words' (2006) is a phantastic instrumental indierock album. Delivering it, the CRASHING DREAMS are one of only very few bands in this genre. The album convinces with a dynamic sound that jumps right out of the speakers when you listen to the record on your stereo.
For the past couple of years Flavio and Fabrizio have been involved in various bands and projects. They played with Barbara Manning And The Go-Luckys! (touring the States and Europe; releasing several recordings between 1999 and 2006), The Cakekitchen (playing in the live line-up in 2003 and 2004), Woog Riots (helping out in various line-up variations between 2005 and 2007) and along with many other bands and projects in the past the twins are also currently playing in bands of the Leipzig music scene.
The CRASHING DREAMS were born in 2002, out of the desire to start something new, something not yet thoroughly explored. After touring in Germany a couple of times they also want to conquer the rest of the world with their powerful and dreamy instrumental music. Live on stage they deliver their very own version of energetic indie-pop-noise-rock to the audience!
