Life after Modelling - 'December 21st' (K9 Remix) - Video
PUBLISHED:  Jan 29, 2012
DESCRIPTION:
Life after Modelling (circa 2003-2005) was a Dublin/Irish band that rose from the ashes of the band Deputy Fuzz. LAM was a 4-piece with Matthew Palmer (Matthew J. Anthony), Bennie Reilly (Little X's for Eyes) and James Byrne (Life After Modelling & Villagers) as the constant members. Bronwyn Murphy-White (Grand Pocket Orchestra, Skelocrats & Deputy Fuzz), Darragh Keogh (The NPB), Ronan Jackson (Coldspoon Conspiracy, Jogging, Crayon Smith & Warlords of Pez) and Shane Cullen (K9 Studios) all did live bass duty at one time or another for the group. They released one record, December 21st EP, on their own label, Model One Records, in Oct 2004 and toured Ireland and the UK during the 2003-2005 period before splitting in January 2005 after playing a Tsunami benefit in Dublin's Vicar St. venue. They played Oxegen music festival in July 2004 and supported Bell X1 the same year for the Irish leg of their tour. They played support to Supergrass, The Fall and Camera Obscura at Dublin shows and toured a lot with fellow Dublin band The NPB. They played a good bit with The Dudley Corporation, Neosupervital and The Immediate to boot! Valerie Francis engineered their live sound quite a lot also! Matthew and James are currently working (and re-working and over-working!) on new material, under the monicker 'Matthew J. Anthony', which will see the light of day in 2012-ish. Enjoy!
