The Breakdowns

Matt had an idea. He thought Joe would be interested. Adam was too. Wouldn't it be cool to put together a stripped down rock n roll band, playing no frills, melody heavy garage rock? Owen came on board and The Breakdowns were born.



People sat up and took notice. "A band that actually wrote songs?!" Y'know, like songs used to be! A hook, a melody, a vocal harmony. Four on the floor drums, buzzsaw guitars, walking and pounding bass lines, soaring, passionate vocals. Wearing their hearts on their sleeves and their influences truely in their hearts, The Breakdowns released their debut long player in 2008. Simply titled 'The Breakdowns', the album made a small dent in Spain, the US and UK. Sold out shows were played on the continent and at home, national magazines and radio stations picked up on the buzz and helped spread the word. The Breakdowns were on a roll.



In 2009, the band released a double A side seven inch. "Hey Veronica/Some Kind Of Wonderful" showcased the band's ability to write a hit that Phil Spector would have been envious of (maybe he is?). plans were made to record an epic second albumnow here we are.



"The Kids Don't Wanna Bop Anymore" is The Breakdowns Magnum Opus. Due for release late 2010, "Kids" is sure to propel The Breakdowns to stardom. You heard it here first kids!
