PUBLISHED:  Feb 22, 2012
DESCRIPTION:
The Bindlestiffs were a Kansas City-based band from the early to mid 90's. The band preceded the "alternative country" genre and moniker of the era. The band featured Mike Niewald (guitar, vocals), Cory Corbino (bass), "Wiley" Brian Clarke (drums), and Jim Holopter (guitar). "Freight Train of Love" was recorded in 1993 with producer/performer, Lou Whitney of Skeletons/Morells fame in Springfield, Missouri. Whitney engineered this song, which was produced by legendary engineer/producer, Bill Halverson. Halverson, most noteably produced the famous Neil Young "Ohio" session, as well as engineered the first Crosby, Stills and Nash record, CSNY's "Deja Vu", Cream's "Wheels of Fire" and many others. The "Freight Train of Love " video was shot and edited by Jim Holopter.
