Bat For Lashes - 'Shadow Of A Doubt' (Sonic Youth instrumental cover) @ De La Warr 19 Feb 10 - Video
PUBLISHED:  Mar 22, 2010
DESCRIPTION:
Interlude/prelude to the second half of BFL's concert, featuring this fabulous string quartet, plus regular BFL touring band member Ben Christophers on xylophone. (Regarding the choice of source for this instrumental: Natasha has cited Sonic Youth as an early influence; whilst her 'What's A Girl To Do' brilliantly re-invents/re-scripts SY's 'Little Trouble Girl').

A radiant & costume-changed Natasha returns after the 20 minute break which itself followed the more conventional 1st half of this concert.

Love the back-screen projections throughout this 2nd half, which Natasha mentions at www.batforlashes.com were the work of Julia Potts and Robin Bushnell, and which enhance the already awesome mystic atmosphere.

Set list for 1st Half of concert: Glass; Sleep Alone; Horse And I; Siren Song; Trophy; Whats A Girl To Do?; Prescilla; Pearls Dream; & Daniel.

2nd Half: Shadow Of A Doubt (Sonic Youth instrumental cover); All I Need (Radiohead cover); Lullaby (Cure cover); Howl (original BFL B-side to Trophy); Wild Is The Wind (cover of Tiomkin & Washington song, also covered by Simone, Bowie, Cat Power et al); & Solsbury Hill (Gabriel cover).
