How many rockabilly bands can you name that have been going strong for more than 25 years ? The Be-Bop's from Belgium have. They've been there, done that, raced with the devil, and lived to sing an encore or two. They survived marriages, divorces and car accidents, and they still haven't had enough.
We wrote an extensive bio here, but we threw it off again. After all, we're talking rockabilly, not writing a thesis on Mozart. The facts are simple : The Be-Bop's played their first show in 1982, and they're still going wild today. In between they played at Hemsby (UK), High Rockabilly (ESP), Rockin' Around Turnhout (B), D-Day (NL), Screamin (ESP), Rockabilly Day (B), Rockabilly Roundup (NL), Rockhouse (NL), Flamin' Rock (B), and probably every rock and roll bar in Belgium, Holland, France, Germany and Slovenia. Preferring quality over quantity, they released 4 albums on Rockhouse and Part Records Not a lot, but all of them classics of the genre without a single dodgy track on them. You can pick up any of their releases on cd, LP, 10 inch, 45 rpm or compilation album (if you can find them, because they always sell like hot cakes) and rest assured that you're holding onto rockabilly gold. The Be-Bop's are one of the few rockabilly bands that never changed their styled, attempted a modern approach, or went pop, rock or psychobilly.
The Be-Bop's are the original hepcats, and they are ready for another 25 years.
