Australian blues legends Backslider's latest release 'Dark Side' (March 2014), their 13th in a 28 year history, is a musical collection of blues, folk, Cajun and gospel influenced sounds with song themes as diverse as the old world scenes of Sydney's Newtown in 'Dark Side of Newtown', to an ode to the Balfa Brothers in the Louisiana Cajun influenced 'Light on Tonight', to the modern day rant on loud mobile phone talkers in 'Phone Cap Blues'. The album also contains 2 bonus dub-like remixes of tracks by Fingers Malone, from their 2011 album, 'Starvation Box'.
