Ten Foot Tone at the Tradewinds Bar in Cotati, CA on 8-13-09 performing CASTAWAY CANS from their album Elevate.

It was really late when they played this song. They had been playing for three hours and it seemed like everyone was in that space of "Did I just wake up or is it time to go to sleep?" Adrenals were running low and there were plenty of designated drivers in the house (Vern's Taxi just isn't a practical option when you are in Cotati); the vibe was burning with mellow intensity.

I was having a lie down across several barstools - although they can play for four hours, I can't dance and film for nearly that long - and I was thinking about YouTube and wondering how the audio was coming through on the camera and my post crash plan started to form.

I requested Castaway Cans (it and Abalone Sky being my favorites off of Elevate). My plan was to get the video I wanted and then lay in the audio track from the CD. I knew I could put together something cool this way as I didn't think that the captured audio would be any good since I planned to be moving around a lot.

The setup in Cotati had them all so far apart that it was much easier for me to navigate between them to get some cool shots of Luis playing drums. This is something I have wanted for awhile.

Watching it back now I am sticking with the live version of the audio. The Bose system is AMAZING x2 and even right on top of Luis you can still hear everybody else just fine. The feeling is to beautiful to mess with so I am not going to.
