Tamim

Tamim's electronica mastery spans downtempo, breaks and trip-hop, gathering in a variety of influences for music that is highly textured, complex, intelligent and, above all, catchy and nonstop. Electronica is a challenging genre and Tamim has it down pat; undaunted by the unique hurdles of this particular style of music, Tamim confronts it head-on and crafts music that is guaranteed to spin the life into any dance floor.

Escape

Music is an escape on many levels, from minor to major. It is a release from boredom (a little thing we call entertainment) as well as an introspective journey into self by way of another's creativity. That second quality of music is achieved only in the most quality-rich music and Tamim falls squarely into the category of high quality. Music, in the words of Tamim, is “a chance to escape, to journey to places in the mind, to experience anxiety, relief .” Music helps you confront the negative and turn it into the positive. It is, in the hands of an artist like Tamim, a chance to be entertained and healed at the same time. Music shaped by the right artist – like Tamim – is just that powerful.

Emotion

Regardless of the emotion invoked, music should inspire some feeling in the listener. The strongest musical artists recognize this and make sure that their music does in fact reach the listener in a way guaranteed to bring about an emotional reaction. “Music should inspire and evoke emotion whether soothing or explosive in nature. Music is an opportunity to tell your story and relate to others through lyrics and melodies.”

Tales of Life and Life Itself

Be it a tale regaled to someone or an actual life experience, inspiration flies from many places. “I'm inspired by the varied stories and experiences in life. Stories we read or movies we see.” It's all about “tapping into emotions through music.” Wherever human emotion can be found, inspiration can be found. Tamim knows this and seeks inspiration from a wide range of sources, ensuring emotionally tuned-in music that touches the listener in a way most musicians only dream about. There's not enough room at the top for everybody but there's a slot reserved for Tamim.

Diversity

Tamim's background in other styles of music than electronica allows for the infusion of unique textures, appealing diversions from the norm that deliver only excellence from any given song penned and performed by Tamim. The audience is guaranteed the best of the best when listening to Tamim. Diversity of influence is a mighty and important factor in the production of solid music. “As Tamim is a relatively new endeavor, these previous achievements are fueling the fire to produce more music and explore new musical territory.”

Plans

Constant writing and recording, not to mention touring and the release of the EP “Blank Stare of a Lost Man”, have all set up the road to the future for Tamim. Everything is in place for the sweetest success. Tamim is currently working with A&R Select, the leading independent A&R firm in Hollywood, CA.

Review

“It's obvious – and immediately so – that a nonconformist mind full of musical ability is behind the tight textures of Tamim's music.” - A&R Select
