DESCRIPTION:
THE TACOMA METHOD: 1885. In the wake of the Chinese Exclusion Act, a group of fifteen community leaders decided to evict the Chinese population from their homes, blaming them for the recent economic downturn. Those who refused to leave their homes and businesses were forcefully driven from their homes, made to march through rain and mud, left overnight in the cold and rain, and put on a train to Portland. 100 years later, apologies were made, but Tacoma is still one of the only major cities in the US without a Chinatown.

This song features a trio of home-made "Canjo" instruments (banjo/guitar, ukulele, and 2-string fretless bass made from cookie tins and other recycled pieces).
