The latest release on System Recordings features the return of Ozgur Ozkan to the label. The Turkish producer is making his fourth appearance on the US imprint which follows his 'Dark Beach EP' which was released towards the end of 2013. 'We Don't Need a Miracle' is his latest studio offering and it comes with a remix from Nikko.Z.
Ozgur's latest original works have come courtesy of Baroque Records and PHW Elements. Both tracks have featured a deeper, mid tempo sound with some dark undertones and eerie sound design. 'We Don't Need a Miracle' is certainly cut from the same cloth but with some additional sprinkles thrown in. Ozgur's tightly constructed groove is well complemented with metallic hits and an underbelly of growling electronics. As the track builds towards the main break a trippy lead line gets introduced along with an array of alien-like sounds. Well processed vocal samples enhance the ominous vibes and carry the piece through a drifting atmospheric breakdown. The conclusion sees all the elements coming together for the ultimate consciousness-expanding experience.
The lone remix is supplied by Nikko.Z who is making his second appearance on System Recordings. In addition to running Dopamine Music the Greek producer has a discography which includes appearances on Sudbeat and Classound Recordings. For his 'We Don't Need a Miracle' interpretation Nikko has reworked all the best elements from the original into a trippy dance floor jam. Momentous bass lines, hallucinatory vocal loops and phasing tones carry the track to a stripped down middle section. Here the eerie vocal elements come to the forefront and cast an incredibly spooky vibe over the production. Nikko's vibrant drums slowly work their way back into the production for an exhilarating conclusion which really stands out on the release. Another great offering from System Recordings with Nikko'Z's remix really standing out.
