Sutrastore was born in the beautiful autumn of 2000. The band consists of Kaat
Arnaert (vocals), Christophe Calis (vocals, keyboard, guitar and laptop),
Patrick Cherchye (vocals and guitar), Jan Delannoy (keyboard) and Jan Dirick
(drums).

In 2001 the national radio station Studio Brussel selects one of their songs for
a Demopoll cd. At that time the members of Sutrastore are focusing on producing
a demo release themselves at their home studio. Songs appearing on this demo:
Sutraworld, Lotus, Clouds, Unexpected. This demo gets them selected for
Westtalent, a local music contest.

In 2002 Sutrastore is selected for the project 100% Puur. This is a project
organized by Poppunt whose mission is to support young bands in Belgium. That's
how the band gets to play on some popular Belgian festivals like Gentse Feesten
and Hove Live. In December of that year their website sutrastore.com goes
online.

2003 starts out great: Poppunt releases a compilation cd with a song of the
band. In this period Sutrastore starts thinking of releasing their first album,
but too many gigs have to be played and too many competitions have to be
(almost) won. Sutrastore is second at the Nova Music Competition and first at
Ruislee Buist. Furthermore, they win a day of recording at the famous studio of
the Ancienne Belgique (Brussels) where they meet Stef Van Alsenoy, a real sound
wizard. This results in the first professionally recorded Sutrasong: Time. The
track appears on Anyone seen my rubber duckie, the first compilation album of
the electronic music collective Je m'en Fish. This will be the starting point of
an interesting cooperation with this brand new collective.

In 2004 Sutrastore presents the low budget video clip Clouds. The band also
works hard on their first album. In cooperation with Stef Van Alsenoy they put
the final touch to some songs. As a result Ifuwannitoo appears on the Je m'en
Fish Sampler 2004 and Clouds is elected best trip-hop song 2004 in Brazil by
Tripofagia.

2005 is an important year. On the 5th of May their first EP Love Evolution 1.0
is finally released worldwide! It is distributed by AKH records in The
Netherlands, by LAVIAL in Belgium and by Bertus distribution in all other
countries. The reviews are pretty damn positive and the band continues to
develop their own sound and keeps on caring for intriguingly good music.
Sutrastore also starts to look further than the Belgian music scene. They
present their album in Ankara (Turkey), they participate in the opening of the
cultural season in Ulm (Germany) and do a small tour in Slovenia and Austria.
