DESCRIPTION:
Sugar Blue is a star of the Chicago Blues scene, and is known for playing harmonica on the Rolling Stones single “Miss You” and on other tracks such as “Some Girls” and “Send It to Me”. Sugar Blue was born in Harlem and made his debuts with Willie Dixon, Roosevelt Sykes, Johnny Shines and Louisiana Red. When he came to Paris in 1977, pianist and singer Memphis Slim hooked him up with some memorable recording sessions. Sugar Blue’s song “Another Man Done Gone” is part of a compilation called “Blues Explosion” which won a Grammy award in 1984. In 1987 Sugar Blue appeared with Brownie McGhee in the Alan Parker’ film “Angel Heart”.
