After 25 years of extensive solo works and collaborations, Sudden Infant will be permanently operating as a three-piece band. The decision behind this transformation was reached at the conclusion of the recordings for the trio's first album, Wölfli's Nightmare, which was released in May 2014 on Voodoo Rhythm Records and is produced by Roli Mosimann (ex Swans).

"F***ing awesome band! I was lucky enough to witness the set live at 100 Club earlier this month. Killer!"
- Steve Crittall / The Godfathers (ex The Selecter, ex UK Subs)

"The gig was quite a classic too with Sudden Infant blowing my mind. I was not expecting the full on tight post punk no wave sound of Sudden Infant. Loud, violent, personal and exotic, a sound and approach I haven't experienced since Swans first made it over to the UK in the early 1980's."
- Steve Cammack / Muh Mur UK

"Wölfli's Nightmare is what happens when we open a tin to discover... weakness, fear, maggots, the Grimm brothers..."
- Robert Brokenmouth / 1-94 BAR Australia

"The idea of Adolf Wölfli sharing his nightmares is alarming enough before you even listen to Sudden Infant's imaginings of what they might sound like. Joke Lanz, with his Sudden Infant project now into its third decade, is similarly driven to produce, produce, produce - a feverish ongoing obsession with filling the vacuum at the heart of capitalist drudgery and alienation..."
- Keith Moliné / The Wire UK
