DESCRIPTION:
This is a compilation of clips from the filming of a Jim Reeves studio session in Nashville in February 1963. There are many clips from this event on YouTube, but I wanted to make one that resembled, as closely as I could, that day. Some clips had video from the first half of Golden Memories, but not the second. Others had video from the second half but not the first. Some cut of the last frames of a song. Another started late into a song.

So, I spliced these together in an attempt to make one continuous musical adventure. I also added as much of the non-musical portions of these clips as I could find; that is, talking, milling around, etc.

A few clips show Jim laughing about the difficulty of singing a certain section of a song correctly. Most clips that include this I think have that posted with the wrong song. The only song here that would have posed any musical difficulty is Auf Weidersehen so that is the song I included that with.

Do I have the songs in the right order? I don't know, I had never seen these clips until I discovered them on the Tube. Is the video perfect? No. I did not attempt to change the synchronization of lip movements with vocals. Maybe someday I will.

This last portion of the video attempts to re-create life as it was when Jim was alive. All but the first record player (the one in black and white) are playing Jim Reeves songs. None of those record players belongs to me: I found them on YouTube.

Finally, thank you to all who have posted Jim Reeves items. I didn't know a lot of this stuff existed, and I have received great personal pleasure in discovering the treasures you have shared..
