As the rescue efforts continue in the Japanese fishing villages that were rocked by a 9.0 earthquake and subsequent tsunami on March 11th, so do the pledges from countless organizations to raise money for aid, medicine, food and fresh water to send to the ravaged regions. The death toll alone is easily reaching 12,000, still more than 20,000 people remain missing, and more than 240,000 people have been evacuated from the disaster zone and accommodated in temporary refuge centers across the country. Radiation from the nuclear power is seeping into the food and water. It is imperative that we keep helping the victims try to return to a degree of normality although there's no telling how soon that will be. In its 18-year history, electronic record label King Street Sounds has been bridging musical acts between the USA and Japan bringing the biggest and the best talent overseas and importing the same level of talent to our domestic shores. In doing their part to aid in the earthquake/tsumani relief effort, King Street has put together a special benefit compilation of cross cultural tunes by Japanese producers and artist that have made a significant impact on the dance floors across the USA and beyond.
